Steward Ontario soft-test Terms

Version 2026-09-28 · Effective September 28, 2026 · Soft-test / beta only · Not the long-form commercial Terms of Service

1. Who we are

These Terms are an agreement between you and Henmi Inc. (“Steward”, “we”, “us”), an Ontario corporation (OBCA), Ontario Corporation Number 1001078903, CRA Business Number 795685163, registered office 194 Waverley Road, Toronto, ON M4L 3T3. Product brand: Steward. Legal entity: Henmi Inc.

Contact: the form at /contact, or henmielectric@gmail.com. We do not publish support@saysteward.com or any other support inbox on this site.

2. Soft-test scope

This document covers free Ontario soft-test / beta use of Steward maintenance software at steward-glenholme.netlify.app (and any honest soft-test CTA we give you). It does not cover paid commercial launch, Quebec, the United States, or the United Kingdom as marketed products.

Marketing on saysteward.com may still use United States framing. That framing does not change these Terms for Ontario soft-testers. Your geography for this cohort is Ontario, Canada, excluding Quebec.

3. Accepting these Terms

You accept these Terms when you create an account, tick the acceptance box, or continue using Steward after notice of this version. If you accept for an entity, you confirm you can bind it. If you disagree, do not use Steward.

4. What Steward is (and is not)

Steward is software that helps small landlords organize maintenance work: tickets, drafts, approvals, vendor notes, and related records. In this soft-test, Steward operates on an ask-every-step model: we may draft or recommend; you approve before any trade contact, spend, tenant-contact share, or job close (emergencies may alert only).

Steward is not: a licensed property manager, real-estate brokerage or agent; a law firm or paralegal; a tenant-screening bureau; a bank, payment service provider, money transmitter, or collection agency; or an insurer. Nothing in Steward is legal advice.

Off in this soft-test (do not expect them): rent collection / Stripe Connect / PAD / ACH live rails; SMS or WhatsApp auto-send; tenant screening bureaus; external AI models processing your customer data without a separate written arrangement; paid billing charges.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. Soft-test invitations are for landlords and authorized staff managing residential rental property in Ontario (not Quebec). Do not solicit Quebec users under these Terms.

6. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for complying with the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 (Ontario), Human Rights Code, privacy law, notice and entry rules, and any other law that applies to your tenancies. You decide every housing, repair, notice, and eviction step. You keep login credentials confidential and tell us promptly via /contact or henmielectric@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

Prefer fictional or non-sensitive tenant data in week one of soft-test. Enable multi-factor authentication on accounts that hold real tenant personal information before you store it at volume.

7. Plans and fees

Soft-test access is free. We will not charge a card or take payment without your express authorization at a future checkout. Any future paid plans will be offered under updated Terms.

8. Acceptable use

Do not misuse Steward: no unlawful content, no attempts to break security, no scraping that harms the service, and no using Steward to harass tenants or vendors. We may suspend accounts that create material risk to the service or other users.

9. Confidentiality and data

How we handle personal information is described in the Privacy Policy (version matching the Privacy version recorded at signup). You remain responsible for tenant and vendor data you enter.

10. Disclaimers

Soft-test software is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Jurisdiction hints and draft messages are informational only.

11. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Henmi Inc.'s total liability arising out of these Terms or your use of Steward during the soft-test is limited to the greater of (a) fees you paid us for Steward in the twelve months before the claim or (b) CA$100. For free soft-test use, that means CA$100.

This cap does not exclude liability that Ontario law does not allow to be limited (including certain cases of fraud or death/personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is prohibited). You agree to indemnify Henmi Inc. against claims arising from your tenancy decisions, unlawful customer data, or misuse of the service, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

Soft-test users acknowledge this cap is thin relative to a tenant personal-information incident. Proceed with low volume, prefer fictional tenants early, and use MFA before real PII at scale.

12. Changes, suspension, end of soft-test

We may update these Terms by publishing a new version and bumping the recorded Terms version at signup. Material changes for existing soft-testers will be noted in-product or by email when practical. We may end or pause the soft-test, or suspend access, with reasonable notice when practicable.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Courts in Toronto, Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-waivable rights you may have.

14. Entire agreement

These Terms plus the Privacy Policy version accepted at signup are the entire soft-test agreement for Steward between you and Henmi Inc. They replace prior USA-framed stubs on this URL. Long-form commercial drafts in our internal folders are not live contract terms until separately published.
